PRECISION ASSET MARKING & SCRIBING
CNC Diamond Drag & Carbide Scriber Overlap Calculator
Compute scratch line width ($W$), penetration depth ($h$), bidirectional hatch stepover ($S$), spring downforce, and single-stroke vector toolpath parameters.
1. Scriber & Material Inputs
Recommended: 150-300g for anodized Al; 400-800g for stainless.
2. Scribe Line & Hatch Parameters

Prepress & Vector Scribe Notes
1. Single-Stroke vs Closed Geometry: Drag engraving does not mill pockets with an endmill; it displaces metal under spring pressure without spindle rotation. Low-res bitmap artwork converted with dual outlines causes unwanted double-line cutting. True single-stroke centerline vectorization is mandatory.
2. Hatch Stepover Density: To achieve solid high-contrast filled areas without leaving untouched ridges, stepover $S$ should equal $W \times 0.70$ (30% line overlap).
