Tooling & Vector Prepress Engineering Notes

1. Percent Squeeze Limits: Static radial and axial face seals require $15\% - 25\%$ squeeze for zero-leakage sealing. Dynamic reciprocating seals require lower squeeze ($8\% - 16\%$) to reduce friction and seal wear.

2. Gland Volume Fill Maximum: Gland fill should never exceed $85\%$ (target $70\% - 80\%$). Elastomers expand under thermal fluid exposure ($10\% - 20\%$ swell); exceeding $90\%$ fill causes seal extrusion and nibbling failure.

3. CNC Turning Toolpath DXF: Groove corner radii should be $R = 0.2 - 0.4\text{ mm}$ with side wall draft angle $\le 1^\circ - 2^\circ$. Internal lathe turning toolpaths must maintain $Ra < 0.8\,\mu\text{m}$ ($32\,\mu\text{in}$) finish.
