Need Clean Vector Artwork Optimized for Fiber Laser Hatching?
Faceted polylines, unclosed loops, and overlapping vector paths cause laser scanners to stutter, burn hot spots, and leave gouges. SpotItLive converts raster images into mathematically closed, zero-overlap vector loops ready for EZCAD hatch fills and LightBurn 2.5D slicing.
Compatible with EZCAD2, EZCAD3, LightBurn, LaserStudio & Galvo CNC Controllers
Engineering Reference: Fiber Laser Hatch & Frequency Parameters by Material
Parameter guidelines for 30W - 60W MOPA / Q-Switched fiber lasers:
| Material | Target Effect | Scan Speed ($v$) | Frequency ($f$) | Hatch Interval ($d_y$) | Hatch Angle Schedule |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Brass (C36000 / H62) | Deep 2.5D Coin Die Relief | 600 - 900 mm/s | 35 - 55 kHz | 0.025 - 0.035 mm | Rotate +45° every pass (0°, 45°, 90°, 135°) |
| Tool Steel (D2 / O1 / M2) | Deep Industrial Stamp | 500 - 800 mm/s | 30 - 45 kHz | 0.020 - 0.030 mm | Cross-hatch + Clean-up polish pass (1500 mm/s @ 100kHz) |
| Stainless 304 / 316 | Vibrant Color Annealing | 150 - 350 mm/s | 120 - 350 kHz (MOPA) | 0.003 - 0.006 mm | Single unidirectional hatch (0° only, tight pitch) |
| Anodized Aluminum | Deep High-Contrast Black | 800 - 1200 mm/s | 60 - 90 kHz | 0.015 - 0.025 mm | Bidirectional hatch (0° and 90°) |
| Titanium (Grade 5) | Oxide Color Marking | 200 - 400 mm/s | 150 - 400 kHz (MOPA) | 0.004 - 0.008 mm | Single pass dense hatch with zero pulse jitter |
Core Prepress Rules for Laser Vector Hatching
- No Crossing Vector Nodes: Self-intersecting outlines (figure-8 loops) cause the hatch fill algorithm to invert, leaving blank voids in the middle of the engraved cavity.
- Zero Duplicate Overlapping Vectors: If an AI conversion creates duplicate coincident strokes, the laser will double-burn the border, gouging deep trenches around your design.
- Closed Island Grouping: Group all concentric rings into unified compound paths so EZCAD and LightBurn correctly distinguish filled cavities from raised relief islands.
