Piezo Electrode CAM & Scribing Rules:

  • Wrap-around electrodes bring the front ground contact to the back surface, allowing single-sided wire bonding without acoustic shadowing on the radiating face.
  • Isolation scribes must have zero sharp corners ($R \ge 0.5 ext{ mm}$) to prevent electrical field concentration and dielectric flashover arcs.
  • Acoustic matching layer thickness must be exactly $\lambda / 4 = c_{ ext{match}} / (4 f_0)$ with acoustic impedance $Z_{ ext{match}} = \sqrt{Z_{ ext{PZT}} \cdot Z_{ ext{tissue}}}$.
